We need help reading the cause of death also any help with his genealogy as we still need a gravestone and cemetery.

Wow.  I can see why you are having difficulty.

Gastric Intes..... Catarrh?

"Gastric intest[in]al catarrh" is a cause of death, mainly for young children and babies. I think this is the cause of death stated in the record.

I asked my wife, who is a retired RN, what those barely legible words represent, and she came up with gastric intestinal catarrh, which basically means a buildup of thick mucus in the intestines and airways that would be caused by some sort of infection.

The word catarrh has fallen out of use in the medical profession due to the ability to more precisely define disease mechanisms.
