Looks like the Hugh Ross of Elizabeth City Virginia may have come from Nairn Scotland about 1690's. Rosses from this area may have come as a group over time. There is a book I heard about that tells some of their prominant history in Nairnshire. George Ross, or something, wrote it. Haven't seen it.
