I've come to a dead end trying to find information on a George McCoy. He was born sometime in the 1800's, probably in Kentucky (or maybe in Ohio, on the border), and may have lived around Ironton, Ohio. His spouse was also likely born in Kentucky (or possibly on the Ohio border).
His son was Reverend William McCoy, who was born on June 2, 1882. William was born in Ironton, Ohio, and married in Harlan, Kentucky on May 6, 1912. He lived in Hamilton, Ohio at the time of the 1920 census and had at least one child, the 3 year-old Woodrow Wilson McCoy, who went on to marry Leo Cook and died in 1994. William died on September 7, 1934, in Pennington Gap, Lee, Virginia.
William's wife was Bertie MacGrady, who was born in North Carolina around 1895.
The only information I have on George is his name, which was listed on William's death certificate, and the knowledge that his wife was likely a Native American, probably Cherokee. I cannot be sure of George's wife's name; there is a distant possibility that it was Annie, but this is by no means certain.
Any help would be greatly appreciated; thanks so much!
