Hi, I am in search of my dad. I know very little about the family.

I do however know that his name if Gary. He has at least two brothers their names are Charles and Roger.
Gary and my mom met in Ottawa mom believes most of his family is from the Toronto area.
Any help would be appreciated.

Gary's birthday may be in November. Possible born between 1950- 1953.
I was born in '71
Welcome, Mary-Joe!  As Gary and his brothers are probably still alive, privacy rules prohibit us from discussing them.

smiley I ran a google search on <gary, charles and roger blackburn, canada> and an obit for Charles William Blackburn age 79 of Clay turned up, had a bro Roger of Clay -- this was in the vanover funeral home page

https://www.vanoverfuneralhome.com/notices/Charles-William-Blackburn

Mind you, this could be coincidence and might well not be any connection to you.

That would make him born 1940’s , so either older than mother knew or wrong person.

laugh Marion, I have seen a spread of 8, 12, 15, 20+ years tween siblings, same two parents, so that would not be unusual. And it was among families with 2 to 13 children -- sometimes I paused long enough to wonder who was more surprised -- mom or pop. Um.

And mistakes and misinformation are not uncommon either, Oral History being what it is, and Mary-Joe Hickey is working with Oral History from what she writes in her post.

And Mary-Joe likely can investigate this matter some more, and she may discover this is a relative, or she may discover this is not a relative. But she will make the discoveries in due time.

All information is good information.
Charles would have been the oldest of the brothers. So there could be a gap in their ages.

I'll dig a little deeper... Hope this isn't his brother because it would mean Gary (my dad) would have also maid his journey up the pearly white steps
Susan, you are so right. You can ask 3 people that witness the same thing and get 3 different answers.

smiley Mary-Joe, Canada has (by report) a pretty good medical system and anyone born after 1940 has a very good chance (by report) of living well past the age of 90.
