Google shows a 5th NY Independent Battery.

Andrew, I’ve had to deal with transfers like this, too. Sometimes frustrating.
It’s driving me nuts lol
I would like to add the 5th Independent Battery light artillery to his civil war sticker

If this is him, it has a muster out date. It looks like him. Looks like the date is 13 Nov 1864?

"United States Census of Union Veterans and Widows of the Civil War, 1890," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K83D-YPH : 11 March 2018), George W Gibbs, 1890; citing NARA microfilm publication M123 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 338,211.

He did enlist October 25th must of made a typo so this is him definitely!! Thank you never would of found it
Good job, Paula.

I found him mentioned as Veteran here:

The Malone farmer., September 05, 1900, Page 10, Image 10

http://nyshistoricnewspapers.org./lccn/sn84031968/1900-09-05/ed-1/seq-10/

His pension shows wife and the same mentioned here of Independent light artillary battery company H. The letter “I” looks like a number, but I see now the letter “I” stands for “Independent”. The enlistment date is a bit interesting. I think one is his muster date and one his enlist date? October 21 or October 25. What do you think?

According to his three year enlistment, and some help of FamilySearch, he was mustered out in November 13, 1864, someone already said this and I’m just confirming the same information.
