I kindly need help with this 2 Steyn people who was married

The Jacobus Marthinus Steyn born apparently 1873/74 according to family search I can't find any other information on hhim/her, also very confusing as who's the male and who's the female, I'm afraid I might have the lot mixed up

Kindly can someone clarify Steyn 2197 and 2198

indicates that the male Jacobus Marthinus was age 29 so born about 1863, and the female Jacobus Marthinus was 18, so born about 1874.  Not sure if this helps !

Profile Steyn-2197 already has father Jurgens Johannes Steyn as father, so this is the female born about 1874, and Steyn-2198 must then be the male.

Jaco, you do have the genders correct.

On https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Steyn-2197 her death notice (already shown on the profile) indicates that she died on 5 Aug 1901 and that her spouse was a POW at St Helena. Only men were sent to St Helena.
