In my tree; Elizabeth McFadyen Robbins

I have noted all that I know about my 3rd ggrandfather, being my paternal side.

It would appear he shows up in Paisley from "nowhere". On the 1841 Census he was born in Abbey Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. His life seems to start when he marries Jean Primrose in Paisley in 1794.

Does anyone know anything about Buchanan (27927) and the Stewart/Stuart family he came from?

The best thing I can tell you about he stewart house is that around the 1400's-1500's, a couple of monarchs were born into the stewart house, King James VII & VIII, Elizabeth I and Mary I. I'm sure you'll be able to find more about your specific branch as the stewarts are really well documented throughout history.
