Does anyone here know of sources for South American relatives. Mine are from Venezuela and Ecuador.

My family names are Garcia and Val de vieso. One of my great uncles was in charge of Ecuador for about 6 weeks during a regime change. My grandfather started the first soccer club in Ecuador. He was a "newspaper" man later in Venezuela.

You may want to check familysearch.org. My wife, who is Brazilian, has found church records for her ancestors there. I'm not sure what they have for Venezuela or Ecuador, but it's worth checking.

One thing to keep in mind, the records my wife found where not yet indexed, she had to look through the images herself from the churches where she though her ancestors might have been.
