Proper Location Citation for 1836 NM Record?

I have only been on Wikitree for only about 2 months.  I had a question about what to put in the location boxes when I create or edit my own New Mexico profiles on Wiki for the years 1821-50. I wish I had known that this question has already been asked and answered several times by patient members of the Wiki community. After I posted the same question, new for me but repeated for all of you,.. those previous, questions and answers magically started appearing on my G2G feed.  I am thankful that I got my answer, [Taos, New Mexico, Mexico] but I feel bad for the Wiki people who have to answer the same questions over and over again.  THANKS and APPRECIATION to Austín, Rubén, and Kitty for psychically answering my 'original' question before I even asked it!

If you go to one of the profiles in question and into edit mode, then delete last letter or two of the location. You will get a pop up listing suggestions. Pick that which most closely matches your choice, keeping an eye out for variations by dates. (In England it is just that pre 1801 after that England, United Kingdom). Hope that helps. Also please don’t use abbreviations if possible, makes it easier for non-American members to understand.

Thank you, and I have already re-edited my question to eliminate abbreviations.  Wiki is global, not local and sometimes I forget that being new too.  Someone I really trust regarding that time frame has given me the preferred way to cite the location for a city/town in New Mexico [Town/City, New Mexico, Mexico].  I am right this moment going through all of the profiles I created in the last two months to make sure that they are all consistent with this location citation, using Spanish.   You are appreciated.
