I’m a frequent twitter user, and I frequently look up who’s posting under the #genealogy hashtag, just to see if there are any interesting genealogy tweets. Perhaps I’ll find an interesting article or a story. But lately I’ve been noticing what appears to be a bot network called, the #markrobbinsnetwork that has been pushing a genealogy service called Dan-Cestors. In fact, they’ve been flooding the #genealogy hashtag with advertisements for this service. Has anyone else noticed, other than me.
This bot network, is the twitter feeds for a bunch of business and organizations in Texas and they constantly tweet ads for each other’s services. But what happens is that you go into the #genealogy hashtag on twitter and about every 3rd or 4th tweet is an ad for this Dan-Cestors services, because each one in this network, advertises this services, a couple of times day. I got so annoyed, I literally blocked every twitter feed in this network.
I don’t know much about Dan-Cestors itself, but their obnoxious flooding of the #genealogy hashtag, has made me never want to use their services ever.
