Having trouble understanding how to site sources. Confusing to look at for me. How do I get it cleaned up?

I would like to add that I also have trouble citing sources and have thought about giving up, but I want to add my family from SE Kentucky and Virginia. I have short term memory loss which makes it hard to learn. So it is truly a kindness to clean up our profiles.
