PGM: Bridget Best, could her mother have been Elizabeth Robinson?

Question

Currently Bridget's mother is given as Grace Boithes.  I'm finding other trees, albeit unsourced that show Elizabeth Robinson. (Elizabeth and her husband were originally created as parents of Bridget, but merges, and edits have disconnected).

I can't find any indication that Elizabeth was a real person, If so, can I merge her with Grace, as she was created as Bridget's mother.  I hate to keep her floating around for no reason.

I started to tell you to merge her away, but does she go with the Henry she's attached to? Probably not.

So the two Henry’s are the same and should be merged. So in looking a little further it looks like some people say that Elizabeth Robinson was Henry’s second wife and the mother of Bridget. But most seem to use the same marriage date or a variation to the documented one to Grace. I Don’t know that  there is direct evidence that Grace was the mother of his children. But I can’t find any source for Elizabeth Robinson at all.

Well I certainly don't see a reason to believe in the accuracy of that website. If the Henry's are the same they should be merged. And I guess I would merge Elizabeth away.

I wasn't offering the website as a source, but I think it clarifies who the profiles were intended to be, parents of the wife of Abraham Shaw.

I will merge her, but think I will add something in Henry Bests profile.  As as I can see, I don't think that Grace is proven as the mother of his children either.

After writing the research notes, I think the best thing is to just disconnect her from Henry Best and add the Uncertain Existence profile.  That way I can still link to the profile in the bios.  While I can't find any real evidence or even be sure of her initial mention comes from, I don't see enough evidence to be sure she's fictitious.

I think Bridget Best existed..There's a baptism record.

There may be uncertainty about whether she married Mr. Shaw, but that is not a basis for saying she probably didn't exist.

Ellen, the question is a little confusing because its linked to Bridget Shaw.  The uncertain existence tag would be for Elizabeth Robinson, her sometimes, supposed mother.
