How do I Join the Rhode Island Group?

Hi:  I always get a bit confused on how to join a group.  It always happens but I forget the process.  Anyway, I would like to join the Rhode Island group.  I have several Direct lines that start in Rhode island and would like to help contribute.  Would also love to be the profile manger for my direct lines.   Thank you for your help.  Sincerely, Cathi Gross . . .Names I have direct line in "Utter", "Arnold", "Dodge", "Acres", "George", and several others.

Add a Tag for Rhode Island.  That will get your added to any G2G items that have tagged Rhode Island.

Remember that we 'all' share the profiles, whether we are direct descendants or not.  You can go to any profile, whether related or not, and 'Adopt' a profile if it is orphaned -or- go to the 'Privacy' tab, scroll down to the 'Join this List', and click the link to join the Trusted List for a profile.  If you also want to co-manage, you would have to request that of the current PM.  

Being on the Trusted List will get you notifications of Proposed Merges and messages on the profile, but only the PMs can change the Last Name at Birth, so being on the Trusted List is what you probably want.  PMs don't need to approve / disapprove of changes on a profile, other than possibly requesting sources if a change was made without sources, but anyone can also request that information.
