My father's Scottish family emigrated to the Colony of Victoria in the 1850s. Some of them stayed there and others came on later to New Zealand. But family also went back there so that I have many connections over the ditch.

Hi,

I would like to join this project. Two of my 2x-great-grandparents were Australian; one was the daughter of free settlers and the other was possibly descended from convicts.

Hello team, I am Australian and I would like to join. My interest would be NSW. I am quite new to genealogy. If I have anything notable to state, it would be that I live in Paris and perhaps this could mean helping with translations or even graveyard visits.

Hi - I thought I was a member but am possibly not. I am a team leader of the Eureka Project and interested in contributing to Australian profiles. Update - have been a member since 2014 and the badge was one of those hidden on my profile - not all badges are displayed

Yes Anne, you are definitely a member of the Australia project!

Hi. I would like to join the Australian Project and then the Earl Gray project. I have just located the final evidence for my 3rd great grandmother (Murray-15680). It indicates she was one of the Thomas Arbuthnot 1850 orphans that relocated to Queensland in 1850.

I joined the Australia Project not long after I first came to WikiTree but haven't yet been assigned a team. I'd love to join the maintenance team - having experience with most Australian States. Though I'm still working on my own unsourced and unconnected profiles, I'm happy to dip into the maintenance pool, too.

Hello, just getting started with WikiTree today. I live in Australia, have extended family in Australia, am familiar with research libraries in Melbourne, and was a research assistant and web developer on the Founders and Survivors project, researching convicts sent to Van Diemen's Land.
