I'd like to join. I live near the Payneham Cemetery in Adelaide and have long been interested in the early residents of this area. Happy to work on the folks in the cemetery.

Hello, I recently found about 30,000 profiles on the Germany NLA (National Land Archives of Niedersachsen) website.  I am finding many emigrants to Australia so I might as well join and also add the Australia tag to those profiles as I create them.
by Michael Schindler G2G6 Mach 2 (20.3k points)
Hi Michael, thanks for your reply, I'm sending you a private message.
Hi Michael. Thanks for supporting the Australia project. My family emigrated from Schliesien around 1840. I have seen references to Niederachsen. Please ask a question if I might help connect Germany NLA to an Australian profile.

I took me awhile to find the link on the email to reply to the do not reply message I got, and could not figure a way to get back to this question and answer--
But here --it is public information and spread it around.

My GGG Grandfather Charles Chadbon/Chadlion/Chadburn was sentenced to 7 years and transported to VDL arrived "Lord Hungerford" 1821.  His son my GG Grandfather WIlliam Chadburn, with the Leslie Brothers, were among the very first settlers of the Darling Downs, Warwick QLD in particular.  He was head stud groom on Canning Downs Station from the late 1840's until his death, drowning while crossing a flooded Condamine river on horseback, returning from the Warwick Courthouse after registering the birth of my G Grandfather William Henry Chadburn.  My GG Grandmother then remarried - John Robert Howe, their son John Robert Howe jr went on to become the blade shearing world record holder "Jackie Howe" who also made the blue sigglet famous.
Count me in please

Hello,

We have many relatives born in Australia and some of our ancestors were convicts and some were pioneer free settlers or bounty immigrants from Scotland.  We’re not sure how our skill sets will help us contribute but we’re open to suggestions.

Kind regards

Terry & Abigail McIntyre

My branch of the Salt family (paternal) is mainly South Australia and Victoria. Same for the McEwin (maternal) family. I was born and raised in South Australia.

My range of interest is so small - chasing the parents of parents as far as possible while ancestry.com is available at home during COVID lockdown. Just my family.  And any Australian who published music and died before 1955 (eg. now out of copyright). I am Probably not much help.
