Some people think it might be from James and Elijah Dotson from Virginia , Kentucky and on to Indiana in the above project.

Start with the 1830 census for Indiana. George was born Indiana about 1828

Which Dotson's list a son under 5 ?

Then the 1840 census

Which of the Dotson named in 1830 list a son 10-14 in 1840? (Some of the children in 1830 may have died before 1840)

Then 1850. Do any have a son 20-29 still living at home? You know your George was gone by then to his own house.

Of the men with a son in 1840 10-14, check to see if they have a will where their children are named.

There are 19 Dotson/Dodson families in the 1830 census Indiana. There are 24 in 1840.

I eliminated these 2 by using last name only in the search form then putting their names as fathers, checked born in Indiana and died in Indiana exact. Their sons died in Indiana. Your George died in Missouri
