Need help from someone with knowledge of South Carolina

I have a family in the 1880 Census who is shown to be living in "Savannah, Anderson, South Carolina." (see: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M69R-YHP

Looking at the image, Savannah is listed as a township; however, I am unable to find a viable reference to Savannah Township in Anderson County, South Carolina anywhere. I've looked on Wikipedia, the FamilySearch wiki, and have done a general Google Search. Not much turns up.

Was this an historical location? Does anyone have information on its history??

Thanks!

Julie:

That took some looking.  Apparently it was an old township near the Savannah River.

Thanks Kathy! We will add this to the South Carolina project. That’s the first I’ve ever heard of it and I grew up not far from there.
