I am doing a presentation on Wikitree

My local archive center, The Cumberland County Archives and Family Heritage Center, here in Crossville, TN has asked me to do a presentation on Wikitree next weekend so I am asking two things of my fellow wikitreers.

One, what tip(s) would you give beginners on our site? I have followed our fellow Wikitreer Leanne Cooper's excellent You Tube videos. I am trying to keep things very simple.

Two, I am wanting to show how widespread our site is so could you list where you are from so I can promote our site to our hopefully new Wikitreers?

Also wish me luck!

Thanks!!!

My tip would be for anyone wanting to begin on the site and help contribute to the tree, is make sure they have discussions with all the older folks in their families still living, capturing and compiling all those rich and wonderful memories of past generations.

I applaud your investing the time and effort to do a presentation.

We are here in Central Pennsylvania.

Before someone starts entering data they should spend some time looking at the g2g questions and answers, and also look at the profiles associated with these q&a’s to get a better sense of what WikiTree is all about.

People should also know what they want to get out of WikiTree, such as sharing info with family members and reports.
