How to manage Gedcom upload updates

I maintain my Gedcom in an external program, TMG. I need to know what will happen each time I want to upload a new version. What wiill happen and how to do it?

Hi Steven. You can't upload a new GEDCOM to update your WikiTree profiles. The reason for this is that WikiTree is a shared tree. So automatically overwriting your profiles could undo the work of others on those profiles.

So, if you uploaded a new GEDCOM, you would have to merge each profile individually, which depending on the size of your tree could be a lot of work, and is not encouraged.

That's unfortunate. My tree is well maintained with many source citations. Much left to be done as well. I cannot upload anything that can't be easily refreshed. I can see this tree becoming a mass of unsourced name links. Sorry
