Name: Augustus E. Sabins (Sabin)

Birth: October 23, 1844

Death: August 30, 1922

Married: Ella Marilla Barrett on February 22, 1886 in Hermon, St. Lawrence, New York, USA.Her FAG link here:

The name seems to appear with the spelling Sabin and Sabins. So not sure which is correct?

Region of interest: Bombay, Franklin County, New York, USA & St. Lawrence County, New York, USA. It seems majority if not all his life he lived in Bombay, Franklin County, New York.

Also need genealogy help as the census in 1910 seems to show him a widower the “W” could be an “M” hard to read for me or an error typo on the census itself; however wife didn’t die until 1938 per her gravestone. See census reports which all show his son Fred who is the Husband of Sarah Theresa (Lalone) Sabin — married 5 Oct 1931 in St. Lawrence, New York, United States. So his son didn’t marry until after father had passed. Need a little help here with sources, categorizing and the children etc

I’m not sure if this is the same person on 1910 census if not I’ll remove the 1910 census source cited

Citing this Record
"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch ( : accessed 23 August 2019), Fred Sabins in household of Gus Sabins, Bombay, Franklin, New York, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 75, sheet 11B, family 151, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1982), roll 937; FHL microfilm 1,374,950.

We also need a cemetery location and gravestone image; a death or birth record would be great!

Thank you

He is not in the 1850 census for Hiram and Esther. There is an Eleazar A. Sabin age 5
The book William Sabin and his Descendants 1609-2000 by Gordan Alan Morris and Philip Sabin Hibbard lists him as Sabin.  His parents are listed as Hiram Comfort Sabin and Esther Soper.

I think that you will find that the original spelling of many of this name would be "Sabean".
