Personal Categories

Question

 APPRECIATION for whomever recently nudged me toward utilizing a Personal Category. Sometime in the last week or so, in their commenting on my comment that I thought perhaps Sir Arbuthnot etc [who wanted to tally something] might want to utilize the Personal Category to do so. [He did not.] 

So, nudged, and having giving thought to the idea, I "just now" set up my Personal Category, -- no sub-category necessary, since I am only using it to log in blood kin. 

My watch list contains ALSO the spouses of same, and some others (I think) that "don't belong" there although I'm sure I had a reason to put them on my watch list.  

My reason was to keep a tally of blood kin. I have been asked about "how many are there" a few times and had no good method of estimating. But the Personal Category situation works just fine, it registers which profiles, and it keeps the tally on how many.

I CAN recommend the use of and utility of Personal Categories as a means of tracking certain kinds of information one might be interested in

In my case, I'm keeping track of the 1000+ blood kin

Well, I thought so .. admitted it is teejous to go through name by name ... In a way, it's like walking through a photo album (after a decade away from it) and explaining it, or trying to, to your very young relative ... oh, you say, I'd forgotten about her / him !! 

This Mythical young relative may have approached me in their confusion seeking clarification, but by the time I get through they'll be confused in greater detail. Oh, dear. 

Up to 445 "registered" at the moment and subject to an ever increasing number until I run out of 'em. There IS an upper limit, I'm sure.
