If 2 people share the same vitals but 1 is alive and other is deceased, how do you determine who is the real 1?

My maternal grandmothers ssn links me to her unverified parents & family but the family denies relation due to their family member is still living. They share all the same vitals, birthday month date & year. The family sent a photocopy of baptismal record & it is identical to my grandmothers. There is a notation on the back of only 1 though. My grandmother born Evangelina De Los Santos is a total mystery to our entire family. Her birth was Oct 29, 1929 in Lyford Willacy Texas. How does this happen & how do I determine who is the real family &  parents of the 2?

That's the family that their Evangelina is still living but all that info linked me to them by social security. Still stumped.

You could try writing to Social Security, giving the info you have and copies of birth certificates and death certificate. And ask them if some sort of mix up has occurred. Copies of marriage certificates might help too.

I paid to have her info sent but parents were blacked out(due to me not having proof of their deaths). My entire purpose of requesting that application was to obtain that info, we dont know them so can't provide that. Its frustrating at times. Thanx for the help, I'll try & get marriage record & see what I can do with that.
