Edward Joseph Mahoney, aka Eddie Money, passed away today (13 September) from complications with esophageal cancer.

Based on a quick search, I'm leaning towards neither of these being his profile. When I sort them by birth date, one of them goes to the top of the 1940's (implying he was born 1940) and the other sorts just above a 1943. Eddie was born 1949 and should sort to the bottom of the list. I'll give it an hour or two for a response, then create a profile for him.

Damn! I just heard he was stage 4 with cancer.

I saw him perform once at an outdoor show at Springfest in Pensacola, FL. I was thoroughly unimpressed as he seemed drunk, had a little kid on stage with him, and was dropping F bombs like crazy. Didn't seem very professional. People were walking away after just a few songs. Still, I would not have wished something like this on him.

OK - Got his profile started - working on his family now. Wrote a biography and hopefully got most of the information correct. Eddie's stories are sometimes a bit hard to correlate with reality - um... he sort of likes to embellish them a bit. But I left at least one of those in there as it's a cute story about how he met his wife. If others want to update the bio with some more of his clever stories, please feel free.

One more grandparent to go and then I'll have the complete set. One of his g-grandparents is questionable, so I'll put that in a separate answer so that others can provide input.

This was such sad news, I remember listening to his music in high school. His songs will always be a true memory.
