Hello Corina:

Thank you for your interest in WikiTree and for your question here on G2G.

As you probably know, the nickname Polly was quite common for girls/women with the given names of Mary during the 17th and 18th centuries.  Trying to confirm whether your Mary Murray Pleasant used that nickname is another matter.  Without an obituary, or a letter or Family Bible, it may be impossible.  Perhaps someone here will be able to help.

Meanwhile good luck to you in your search - keep digging, keep asking!

Thank you for your prompt answer, and no, I was not aware that Polly was a common nickname, back in the day.  This helps me greatly,as the family Bible is where I found "Polly", mother of the bride, and now I can confidently connect all of these loose ends.  Thanks, again, from a grateful rookie.
