Clicking the tag and page for this challenge and uploading isn't the actual place one uploads??? Two weeks in a row- the photos aren't here? Still trying to figure out the site and take part. They were uploaded, but now??? They seem to be somewhere in the digital world?? Help please.

In Valencia (Spain) eating a paella has always been a good way to celebrate. I do not know what was the reason for the celebration this time, but the paella was not missing and it's in the center of the photo.

The second woman on the left, with a white jug in her hand is my grandmother, Margarita Hernández Díez. The woman sitting with her son on the right,  is her sister Elvira, who died shortly after.

They are eating a paella, the best known Valencian dish. It is usually made of rice, vegetables, chicken and rabbit.

This is a photo taken Sep 1944 of my father and my grand aunt Nora Long at the big celebration in Kansas, "Wichita Rodeo Days".

The piano was a wedding present to my maternal grandparents in 1914, a cottage piano so smaller than the standard size.  When my mother died 13 years ago I was told it probably wouldn't stand the journey to Dublin where I live so I gave it to one of my cousins who was able to transport it to his home in Essex, England, not too far from my parents' home in Norwich.

My beloved grandparents, Reamer and Ralph Underwood on the way to celebrate his 90th birthday with family and friends.

The home behind them was built by my grandmother’s father with assistance from my grandfather’s father, the men being 1st cousins once removed.

On June 22, 1897 Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee was celebrated in Canada and other Commonwealth countries. My great-grandparents were invited to a party at Government House in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Here is my grandfather, Peter Stoner. He taught math and astronomy at Pasadena City College (PCC) (Pasadena, California, USA), from about 1912 (when it was still Pasadena High School) until he retired in the 1950's. He was also the head of the mathematics and physical sciences departments. (Photo from yearbook.)

My grandfather was involved in the building of the observatory at PCC. Here it is in progress.

Here is a photo that my grandfather took of Albert Einstein at the celebration to dedicate the newly built observatory at Pasadena City College in Feb. 1931.

A pamphlet on the history of Pasadena City College says this about the event:

"Pasadena Junior College hosted many well­-known speakers. Albert Einstein was enthusiastically welcomed by some 8,000 people, including students from the city schools and the Junior College, when he appeared to dedicate the astronomy observatory in February 1931. Dr. Einstein spoke in German, so a translation of his speech was read by the principal. Despite this difficulty, the usually shy and unassuming physicist seemed to have no trouble
relating to the students and residents of Pasadena."

My Uncle John Allison Rammel and Aunt Lillian Hellgren were married.

The celebration was great as he was home from the US Army in 1944.  The union took place in Assumption, IL.

He was in the Army during WWII and came home for the celebration of his wedding

There are several generation in the photo.  I am the youngest.  My Uncle Chet May was holding me

I need some help. I have tried 4 times to upload a photo for the Celebrations prompt, BUT it keeps showing up upside down and there is no way (on wikitree) to turn it around.

When I received the original file of photos they were all upside down so I corrected them them all to be right side up and saved them with new names.

SO WHY are they still showing as upside down when I upload them to Wikitree and how can I fix this? This is very frustrating!!  Thanks.

Robynne, I would expect editing them and saving - especially with a new name - would fix the problem.  Since it didn't, I have an idea - try opening one that looks right side up in your computer, rotate it to upside down, and save that - maybe if your computer is turning it upside down on save, then the upside down one will be right side up when you upload it.

If all else fails and you want, send me a PM and I'll reply so you'll have my email address, then send the upside down files to me and I'll see if I can get them to right side up and send them back to you.

I just had another idea.  When you have the picture right side up in your computer, select it all and copy, then open a new picture window and paste it.  Save that and I'm willing to bet it will be ok.

My Uncle Eric celebrated his 100th Birthday in May 2019. So the extended family got together for a celebration. Sadly Eric died just 2 weeks later. In this photo he is surrounded by his 3 daughters. His grandchildren are the children in the 1984 cousins photo I used for week 30 - FYI.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect, that this is a celebration of my grandparents' marriage.

The woman on the right is Maud Bagley, my grandmother's mother. The woman on the far left is Evaline Palmer, my grandfather's mother. So it's a photo of my mom's two grandmothers.  

My mom tells me that Maud and Evaline didn't really know each other very well, so my best guess is that they're together here celebrating their kids.

I'm not sure who the woman in the middle is, but she looks like she's having fun too.

This is difficult because the celebrations I would most like to show don't have photographs existing of them: the Eastman-Rowley Picnics we had in Recreation Park as I described in 52-Ancestors Week 38 and a similar gathering at my father's mother's house for Christmas Eve every year from as early as I can remember to when I married and left home. I have no photos from either of them.  Just the pictures in my mind.

What I did find was a photo of a casual photo of an Eastman reunion in 1994 at my Uncle Lynn Rowley Eastman's home in California. I'm not certain, but I believe that the only person shown still living is myself.

This is a photo of the Bicentennial Bonfire at Alva Beach at Ayr in Queensland, which was one of many bonfires, set alight across the country on the 18th of June 1988 to Celebrate the Bi-Centenary of Australia in 1988.

In 2018, it was depressing to be celebrating my 75th birthday in a hospital 800 miles from home, where my husband had a quadruple bypass plus aneurism repair 2 weeks earlier (he had a cardiac arrest 3 months earlier, then when he was stabilized enough to take a med-flight, we went to the Cleveland Clinic for the life saving surgery).

My son - in California - arranged a surprise. This guy showed up with a stunning flower arrangement and started singing.  All the nurses came in and brought a birthday cake.  I was terrified that he was going to start taking his clothes off, but thankfully that didn't happen!

My celebration is that Ellen is the oldest daughter of her family and they got married after my mother got married in the same year which was 1957 as my mom who got married March 15 and Ellen then got married in May and then their youngest brother got married the same year also to my mom best friend in High School and they graduated together what is also funny is that her friends birthday is the same month and was born the same year so they are the same age. My mom is the only one still married since her youngest brother has died and her older sister has died too. I'm not sure who these cuties are, but I found them in an album compiled by my great aunt Hilda (Johnson) Horn. This side of the family lived in Alaska, and Hilda's father immigrated from Pajala, Sweden, while her mother immigrated from Finland. Most of the men in the family worked as miners and were involved in the Fairbanks Exploration Company.

The family of my great-grandmother Ingrid (Helgren) Herling had to come to America in waves because they did not have enough money to come togther.  Great-great-grandfather came to America, worked, and then sent money back to Sweden for the rest of the family to come.  Once the rest of the family arrived, they all posed together for this photo in Minnosota in 1892 - it was quite the celebration that the family was together.

My grandfather, Gordon Wilson, is in the car to the right wearing the ten gallon hat. He was a member of the University of Oregon Ducks football team. This photo was taken in 1924 and I believe it was after a successful game.
