A little over a year ago I wrote the G2G post "Copy and Paste shortcut for G2G questions & answers." In that post I talked about the use of browser programs, like Clipboard History that remember your cut and paste history. It remembers everything you copied and lets you paste from any copy in your history. Favorites can be saved and accessed in a separate pulldown menu.
I use Clipboard History almost daily when I WikiTree and it makes my work so much easier. It has almost completely eliminated copying from a Word doc or text document. But, I have so many items in my copy favorites that sometimes I have to search around to find my most used items.
In another thread, WikiTreer David Thomson mentioned that he uses keyboard shortcuts (rather than mouse copy and paste shortcuts). He shared with me the program that he uses and I appreciated his suggestion and advice. I investigated a bit further and found that there are also browser plugins that allow me to link any text to a key combination, much like the shortcuts you have on an iPhone.
In my case, I downloaded for Chrome the extension "AutoTextExpander 2." This program lets me save some shortcuts and now when I type a shortcut the extended text appears.
For your most used shortcuts this program is very convenient and is very fast. I find that it supplements the other program well and I am probably using it about 80% of the time whereas the cut and paste shortcut probram about 20%.
If you don't have a keyboard shortcut program yet, you might want to check it out!
