Relative to children for Tolbert and Louisianna Crawford -- I am trying to reconcile the difference between what I am finding on the 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses and what is posted here. I am very confused. I show the following children and approximate birthdates from those censuses:
Ida L. 1853 (1870 census) (I think it's Ida S, looking at the handwriting)
Louisa J. 1854 (1860 census)
Sarah A. 1855 (1860 census)
Anna 1856 (1870 census)
James H. 1859 (1860 census)
Anna E. 1861 (1870 census)
Eliza 1863 (1870 census)
Catherine 1864 (1880 census)
Lucinda 1865 (1870 census)
Famy 1867 (1870 census)
Margret 1869 (1870 census) The census says she was born in August
Addie 1867 (1880 census)
Fannie 1868 (1880 census) (Faie and Famy are probably the same...)
Maude 1873 (1880 census)
Ollie 1874 (1880 census) (Olive, b. January 1874 from 1900 census)
Obviously, Famy and Fannie are probably the same person. Are the two Anna's? My thought is the Anna from the 1870 census may be Emma Elizabeth instead of Anna E.
Missing from the above is Mary, who is listed as being born in 1854 and died in 1855. Same with Caroline, born in 1862 and died in 1863. Neither of these children would have shown up on a census.
However, the 1900 census shows Louisa (Louisianna) as being the mother of 13 children, 9 of whom were still alive. She is living with James and Olive in Schuyler County during the 1900 census.
I would appreciate any shedding of light on this family! My e-mail address is email@example.com.
Tolbert is the brother of my third great grandmother, Jane Crawford Horney.
Thanks for your help
