Need information about Mary Elizabeth Mitchell Miller

Question

She was born in Northumberland, England July 1, 1879.  I would like to know when she migrated to the U.S. and when she married Fred (or Ferdinand) Miller.  After their marriage they lived in Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.  They had two children, Paul and Sara.

Her parents were John Mitchell and Sarah Jane Allen.  I have no informtion about Fred (or Ferdinand) Miller's parents except that his father was from Germany.

Thanks, I had previously check the record and found  a Mary Mitchell arrived in Philadelphia from Liverpool on the ship British King on September 21, 1881 at the age of 2.

 

A source I consulted earlier indicated she died in Denver.  I was suspicious of this and have now found her grave marker in the Kittaning, PA cemetery.

If you check the National Archives (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/) for their shipping and passenger manifests you should find the records for her migration there.

Also check Family Search (https://familysearch.org/) it's free to join search and view the records there.

Hi,

I found your family in the 1910 census and it states that Mary's immigration year is 1882,

Seeing that Mary was born in 1879, I would use the 3 years (from birth year to supposed sailing to the USA) as a base with your search, it is better to 3 years either side of the stated emmigration year of 1882, as I have encountered that differing immigration years between census years are quite common.
