Looking for birth record for Arthur Henry Gardner b. 11 Oct 1857, Yarmouth NS, Canada and death record d. 3 March 1931, buried in Springvale Cemetery, East Providence RI, gravestone says: A. Harry Gardner.

We found all of his father's and forefathers information in the Doane, Clement V. Yarmouth Genealogies: Index. No.929 .371631 Doa and the Brown, George S. Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Genealogies: Transcribed From the Yarmouth Herald. Baltimore, MD: Genealogical Pub. Co., 1993. 929.371631 Bro ISBN: 0806313722 but Arthur Gardner is not listed in these references. Thank you also for the corrected birth date. We based his date of birth and death on the gravestone from the cemetery. It is on find a grave website.The grave clearly says 1857, but stranger things have occured. Thank you again.

The Nova Scotia Historical Vital Statistics webpage birth records begin in 1864. Family Search has no birth records for him, but there is a Rhode Island death record (certificate can be downloaded) at Family Search that has his birth in 1859.

Some church records are available for Yarmouth, perhaps his baptism record is there. You can get a list of what churches from the FamilySearch catalog. I did not check to see which ones were digitized and online.
