Disproven Existence Notice: Anafleda Wessex

The line of legendary ancestors of King Cerdic of Wessex has now been moved into the Disproven Existence Project.  However Anafleda Wessex was not in the notice, although her comments indicate disproven existence from years ago.  So this is the formal notice that we'll add her Disproven Existence in a week unless someone comes up with some record (or perhaps even credible hint) of her existence!

Are there other profiles closely related to Cerdic's genealogy which should be included in this notice? Please add each in a separate answer so if there is discussion the discussion can match the person.  Thanks.

Currently shown as the father of Anafleda is Elesa.  Elesa was included in the previous disproven existence notice, but it looks like both of Anafleda's brothers, King Cerdic and Wihtgar are people with some documentation in the records.

The way WikiTree is set up, in order to show Wihtgar as brothers, they must have a father;  if we take Elesa away as father, WikiTree will create a new father so that Cerdic and Wihtgar can be brothers.  So I have  moved Elesa back into "Uncertain Existence" pending further discussion.

There are no records, though, of Elesa's "wife" who is unknown, so this proposes to bring her into the Disproven Existence fold.

Sorry I'm a bit late to this G2G discussion, but I've only just realised that there is a problem.

Wihtgar is not the brother of Cerdic but best estimate is that he is his nephew and if we follow Asser's Life of King Alfred, which is possibly the first document to mention Wihtgar, then he is a nephew via a sister of Cerdic (Cerdic is his avunculo which means maternal uncle see p. 4, line 7-8).  As an alternative the notes on p. 171 suggest that Wihtgar might be Cerdic's grandson and Cynric's nephew.  However I think we have to go with what is stated in the actual text in this instance.

So we can reinstate Anafleda (probably with First Name as Unknown) as sister of Cerdic, and connect Wihtgar to her, or we can disconnect Wihtgar altogether and just mention the presumed relationships in his biography?

Like everyone else in this family group there is a strong possibility that he never existed.

John, I'll be glad to take these additional steps, begining with any additional work needed on Wihtgar's profile.  Could you remove the PPP, as I don't think this is an at-risk profile. Right now he is Wihtgar Wihtgar and I think he needs to become Wihtgar Wessex.  What do you think?
While we're at it, Wihtgar Wihtgar's current wife, Ofwest Elesason, is surely a candidate for Disproven Existence. This is her one week notice!
John, on second thought, Anafleda has an existence in popular genealogies, so, since she has a profile on WikiTree, I think it's helpful to people to be able to find her and see that we have termed her as Disproven Existence.  That fulfills an important educational objective.

So I created a new Unknown Sachsen for Cerdic's sister and made her the mother of Wihtgar.  Added Ancient Royals as the PM.  Now all that's left to do on this one is to change Wihtgar's LNAB to Wessex.  Or perhaps Jute.
