I just need the right title.

MYTHS, TALL TALES, AND WHOPPERS: Stories from the Genealogical Minefields

or

LIES MY ANCESTORS TOLD ME
in The Tree House by Lois Tilton G2G6 Pilot (173k points)

LoL! yes

I like the second title best :)

I like

"Digging up My Ancestors."
DIGGING UP THE TRUTH MY ANCESTORS WANTED TO BURY
Plus one on that one. Lois.
My mother was always telling me about her father and grandfather's service in WWI.  She had letters, maps, documents ...

But I have the internet, where you can get copies of official service records online. Those stories were largely wrong, and some of them were outright lies.
Then there was my father's family, who liked a particular anecdote so well they retold the same story about different people.

Lois - hi.  Run a Google search on the titles - especially the last one.  There are some "close" videos and books already out there.

Good luck with your publishing endeavor.
