Can we make a page listing the IDs of Living Notables?

I know the privacy policy for living people, including notables, is much tighter than it used to be. Hence my question: Would it be okay to start a free-space page that lists the IDs and profile managers of Living Notables?

I envision the following:

Barack Obama      Obama-2       Wikitree-6 (manager)
Donald Trump      Trump-66        Wikitree-6 (manager)
etc.

I'm simply looking for a way to avoid having duplicate profiles of living notables. If people could see that Notable X has a profile already on this new page, they could just contact the manager instead of making a duplicate.

What do you think?

This is part of the challenge with all living profiles, but especially with Notables. I'd agree that duplicates generally aren't easy to spot unless the person dies (in which case, they either immediately or even worse, slowly, pop out of the woodwork), or we start hunting for them (although with thousands of hidden profiles, it's hit and miss to find a match). I'm not terribly opposed to a simple list, but the big question comes in how do we create it, who maintains it, and how quickly updates are posted.

One way we might do this would be if we back the privacy off of these Notables from Unlisted to Red Privacy. I think that would allow us to see basic info (Names and decades of birth). This could present some challenges as once the door is open to move living persons to allow either/or, then other living profiles would bleed over. We'll definitely have to discuss the best way to approach this.

Not every living notable is listed there yet, but it's a start.
It is a good start! My concern is that it doesn't officially tie an ID to a name, if that makes sense.
That's true (and, given your last name, I suspect that you're more sensitive to that problem than most people), but it does at least narrow things down to the Last Name At Birth, and once you click on the link, you can see the decade of birth, which would narrow things down still more. If somebody thinks they have a likely hit, then a Trust List Request should get an answer.

We also try to encourage people to make the Notables Project Project Manager for living notables, just to make it quicker and easier for Scott or other Project Leaders to identify and open profiles when that becomes necessary.
This is true - if Notables is added as manager for all living Notables, then it's much easier to use the Notables account to find duplicates. And most times, this is OK. A few profile managers don't do this, and it does make it challenging to help from the Notables standpoint.

You can always attempt to create the profile. If the profile already exists, it will be flagged as a possible duplicate once you've entered at least a name and date of birth so you just have to stop at that point. No duplicate. You can then contact the profile manager of the existing profile.

This will usually work fine with living notables, since they won't have the issues seen with pre-1700 profiles - the age won't be approximate (usually) and there won't be LNAB spelling issues (again usually - beware of pseudonyms).

Will it be listed if the profile is UNlisted? I'm not that sure about that.
The profile shows up if it matches the data you're entering. You just can't see what is in it. I tried it.
Jelena, you can try entering a profile for Klaus Meine, for instance, and see what happens.

Why do folk add Notable status when they create a profile for a living person?  Nobody can see it as it is Unlisted so doing so is absolutely pointless!  Especially when the notable person is not your family.  Having said that, if you're going to create an Unlisted Notable then please oh please add the biography so that it is ready to roll when the profile is opened.  And enjoy looking at it yourself for the next, maybe, 50 or 60 years!
