A person named Michelle Bagley posted Samuel Bagley's birthplace as Machias, Maine. He married Sarah Mary Barnes (they called her Sally in the census) I am looking for Samuel's father so I can continue the tree. She states he was born about 1795. In the 1822 census from Machias he was living with a John Bagley and Washington Berry. He married Washingtons sister Lucy that year (somehow someone knows this info)

1850 US Census for Cutler, Washington, Maine - Samuel Bagley is 55yrs old. He was born in Maine as was his wife, Sally 47y. The couple has six sons and two daughters in 1850, all born in Maine.

One of their sons died 22 Sep 1931 at the age of 81. Place of death is Poulsbo, Katsap County, Washington.  Birth date was 6 Jan 1850. Parents listed as Samuel Bagley and Sarah Barnes.

I did not find his father, but he likely was in Maine when Samuel was born.

There was a John Bagley in the 1810 United States Census living in Machias, Washington, Maine. Machias, Maine was the birthplace of Samuel Bagley in 1795, so, John could be Samuel's father.

John Bagley is also in the 1820 US Census for Machias, Washington, Maine.

It would be better to have some evidence that the two are related, before jumping to conclusions.

I think John was born in Rockingham County, NH can't find proof yet  Will keep trying.

Thanks for info  I had seen it on ancestry.com also. Could be a brother

I did not see this until today  I THINK    Sorry    I know Samuel and John Bagley were living in the same house in the 1820 census in Machias, ME. And it was in OCT or Nov and Samuel was supposed to have married Sarah Mary Barnes in June of 1820  but she is not in the household.  Her brother Washington Berry is. Thanks for you help soooo  appreciated.    STILL LOOKING

Have done DNA and we are heading towards Henry Currier Bagley as our tree he was illigitimate by Mary Currier before she married a Bagley in Amesbury, MA
