I am looking for the parents of James Washington Dozier, Sr. born ca 1740, Camden, nc.

I have James Washington Dozier, b. 21 Dec 1834, son of Absalom Sawyer Dozier and Mary Ann Campbell.   Don't know if this is the one you are looking for or not.  James W. Dozier was my gr gr grandfather.

First off Camden County was created in 1777 from Pasquotank County, so may need to modify your search.  I did find one record for a James Washington Dozier b:1788 in Camden County, wife Chloe, not sure if is same person or not.  If that is the right person, I'd be glad to check it out further and se if I can find some more info. The record I saw did not list parents.
