Daly in bristol uk

I have had a Daly [daley] brick wall for years

Family folklore as follows

John daly [b.abt 1779 d. 1839] worked as a horseman/gardener for the family of Ann Reily.John fell in love with ann but ann's family thought john was below her status and refused to give consent.

Ann[1791-1875] and john eloped from ireland to bristol [clifton area],uk.They married in bristol in 1822.

They had 3 children mary ann[1824-1899]  Ellen [1827-1847] and charlotte [1830-?]

My brick wall is where in ireland were john and ann born. Does this story fit anyones ancestors at all.Cork been mentioned but have had no luck with that

Hi Mick,

Have you tried using Roots Ireland for a search for their records? It's the official repository for all Irish BMD records & the URL is http://www.rootsireland.ie/

Another place to check for records is the National Archives for Ireland at http://www.nationalarchives.ie/

Also the Public Records Office for Northern Ireland at http://www.proni.gov.uk/

You could also try passenger/shipping manifests/lists for their move from Ireland to England as well in the archives site for Ireland & England

All the best
