Hi Everyone,

I am going to be starting a new One Name Study for the Surname Mayne with two variants Main and Maine.  If anyone would like to work with me, just give me a shout!

I am excited to utilize some of the one name study tactics that have  been discussed the last few days.

I would be happy right now just to hear more definitive information on how and when the John Mayne from Casco Bay (1614-1695) [[Mayne-255]] got to Maine in the first place. From what I've read, it's all speculative so far.

There are competing profiles which members can't decide to merge. We don't know where he came from (probably Devon, England) for sure. And how, after the Indian raid on his family, did he end up in Boston for his remaining days while his son Ezekiel relocated to Stonington, CT?

Bob,

John is part of the Puritan Great Migration Project and you would need to address that question directly to the project.  I am afraid I can't help you with the answer.  I do know that they are very careful with the information that they put on their profiles.  But contact someone on the profile.
