How How do I get a photo on a Profile page to link to a Space page?

I have an image of a grave site created by my GGGfather James Slott/Sloat on his  property about 1850. The image shows a cross for the location of the site on a geologic survey in 1971. I have tried several ways to add this photo to my cemetery Space page but when I follow the instructions for how to link it I always get a yellow box saying "Unable to find a Person or Space record for  Space:Slott_Cemetery%2C_Albion%2C_Illinois"

And now, adding insult to injury, I try to enter a perfectly working URL (that brings up the Cemetery Space page every time I open it) and even this G2G ID/URL says it "does not exist".

I have copied the URL at the top of the Image page, deleted the "http...wiki/" in front and pressed "Save Changes to Image Details' button. I have tried many option: "_", "%2C", full URL, "Free-Space:..." and others that I hoped would work, but always get the same report.

What do I need to do to get the Person Profile Image to show on the Space profile? Or am I the only one who can open the Space profile?

*** So the common comma was the issue. After posting this query I found a recommendation  from another WTer who had the same problem - with the solution being to create a new Space profile without any commas in the URL and then merge the two profiles to delete the "bad" one.  I tried. I now have two Space profiles that look alike (except that I deleted the images from the "bad" one). I attempt to Merge the two and am again told that the old URL (the one with commas) is not a valid WT URL So I have identical twins that can't be combined - which means that any links to the "bad" profile will not be forwarded to the "new" profile.

How do I merge them? Is there some way to find out what other profiles link to the "bad" profile so I can go in and change them all to the "new" profile link - and then just delete my "bad" profile? Or does someone have super powers so they can over-ride the system and get the two to merge despite the commas?

(I was at first concerned if I would be able to change the link on the Category page to point to the "new" profile. But it seems to have behaved nicely.)

"bad" profile: Space:Slott_Cemetery%2C_Albion%2C_Illinois

"new" profile: Space:Slott-Sloat_Cemetery

It would be nice if there were a statement on the page to create a free space profile that tells you which characters will cause linking problems … wouldn't it?

Click the photo details and copy the below coding/tags the paste into the cemetery page. If you can give us a link to your cemetery page that would help. Change the alignment or size if needed.

How to Merge Free-Space Profiles

To use this image inside the text of a profile, try pasting this snippet of code into the bio/text section:

{{Image|file=Slott-82-1.jpg
|caption=James Sloat Property
}}

To align it on the right side of the page, in a medium size, with a different caption:

{{Image|file=Slott-82-1.jpg
|align=r
|size=m
|caption=Here's an image.
}}

David and others ...

This is a known problem, and it's on the Team's list of bugs to research and resolve.

In the meantime, using the {{Image}} template as David describes in his answer is the available work-around.

Thank you Julie and David.

My analysis is that to link Profiles to a photo you go to the Photo page and add the Profile in the appropriate spot. The problem arises with URLs that contain a comma because the Profile entry box allows multiple Profiles to be added at once - separated by a COMMA! So when the bot sees a comma it tries to link to the next words following the comma - in my case of trying to link a photo to Space:Slott_Cemetery%2C_Albion%2C_Illinois, whether it is entered as "%2C" or ",", the bot breaks it down into 3 attempted profiles: "Space:Slott_Cemetery", "Albion" and "Illinois".

The quickest and easiest solution might be to only allow entry of 1 Profile at a time in the "Add person or free-space profile:" box - and then get the bot to read the entire entry as a single Profile, commas and all.

Just a thought.
Your analysis is correct, David. :-)

One thing I could try is to download the images to my computer and upload them directly to the cemetery free-space page we've been working on. I don't mind doing that if you'd prefer to have them connected to the cemetery free-space profile; otherwise, we can leave them on the photo free-space profile and you can use the {{Image}} template to display them in the text of the free-space profile.

It's entirely your call, and I'm happy to help where I can.
