I'm looking for any information on J.Carroll Glasscock, born in 1862 in Missouri.  He appears in Lake County, TN in 1880 with father J.M. Glasscock, mother R.R. Glasscock, and brothers C.T. and I.W.B Glasscock and sister B. Ann Glasscock.

J.Carroll Glasscock appears as Carroll J. Glass in some records.  He was married to a Susan Waggoner or Wagner.  He is also the father of several daughters, including a Nora and Stella Glass.

Any information or leads on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I'm sorry I do not have any real insight for you. I'm Stella's Granddaughter.  J. Carroll Glasscock, was my Great Grandfather. I am told that some recall his wife as Frances Waggoner.  I would be interested to know if you have learned more.

Best regards.

Janetta,

Stella Murray was my great grandmother, through daughter Inez.   From what I've learned, J.Carroll Glasscock married a Mary Susan "Suzie" Wagner, or sometimes spelled Waggoner.  I've traced Suzie's line back 4 generations along her maternal line, but I haven't had much luck finding more about the Glasscocks.

J. Carroll Glassock started going by the name Carroll Glass around 1900, and died within 5 -10 years afterward best I can tell.  I believe I've identified his brother C.T. as the Charles Glasscock found living near Carroll in Lake County, TN in 1900, but nothing on the others who appear with him in the 1880 census.  From the places of births listed for his siblings I suspect that the Glasscocks resided Fulton County, TN, up until about 1870 and then sometime that year moved to Lake or possibly Obion County, but I've found no 1870 census record for the family.  I'm hoping that if I do I can identify the full names of Carroll's parents, rather than trying to trace them by their intials.

I'd love to compare notes with you on whatever you might know of the Glasscocks, Waggoners or Murrays.

I now have the Glasscock line all the way back to year 1240 on family search. I am in process of verifying. I added Fielding Glasscock today to Peter Glasscock Jr.
