Animated Map US Colonial and Territorial Expansion

I posted this before some months ago but cannot find the thread. Several questions the last few days have been impacted by the border changes, sometimes radical, of the US colonies, territories and states over time. Location names can change in unimaginable ways and knowing where something was at a given time in US history can often help locate records.

Visual Capitalist has an exceptional animated time lapse map of the US Expansion here. Hopefully this will be helpful to WikiTree members new and not so new.

That is fascinating! Thanks so much for posting it.
I wish there were a way to create an animated map showing the movement of the descendants of a PGM ancestor, or the descendants of anyone on WikiTree, for that matter.
Maybe Chase is listening (reading)?

Yes, Rodney, that was my prior posting of the link. Could not find it for some reason, thanks.
Thank-you for the star Susan
