Data Doctor needed to clean-up daughters of Brock-288

Working on the Brock family in the Albion, Illinois area I found what I thought were duplicate profiles (Brock-3630, Brock-510 and UNKNOWN-135297) and was preparing to suggest a Merge - but the birth/death dates indicated these may include two different individuals with confused names.

These profiles have the same given names: "Charlotte Sarah" - though Brock-510 also includes the name "Sally". They both marry a man named Coldiron - but it is possible these were two Coldiron brothers as Brock-3630 does not include a first name for her spouse. And not having definitive/reliable sources posted makes this more difficult.

I am hesitant to carry this further because their father is in a protected category (native_american_adjunct), and they are in the 1700s.  (Taking the 1700s training made me decide it was too technical a field for me so I am trying to pass this off to an expert.)

Maybe one profile should be "Charlotte Sarah" and the other should be "Sally"??? But which is which? And with which should the Unknown merge?

Sally is a diminutive of Sarah.
David, if you can, hunt for records and put them under a Research Notes header. That would be very helpful and much appreciated by pre-1700 members. If you are not sure you could put ‘possible xxx record’ before the citation. Then if you came back and noted that you had done this, that would be good.

I haven't looked but I think it's better to wait until proper sources are added to the profiles. Clearing up unsourced material often leads to errors.

I don’t find  a “Charlotte” in any lists of Jesse’s children. According to an affidavit regarding his estate, he had six living children when he died in 1843  - sons Aaron and Amon, daughters Sally Coldiron, Theny Stone, Susannah Blanton, and Polly Helton. He also had sons named James and Jesse, possibly a George.  It’s probable that some of the people listed as his children were actually grandchildren.

Sarah’s husband was John Coldiron.  Here’s a link to his will, naming wife Sally:  https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/18020945?h=f9a98d&utm_campaign=bandido-webparts&utm_source=post-share-modal&utm_medium=copy-url
