Will someone look up Johann Wilhelm Georg and Johann Anthoni Georg in "Palatine Families of New York"?

My ancestor, John George is described as "from Germany" in the book "Biological Review of Leading Delaware County Citizens", and in early census lists, but I suspect, due to his age, anglicized name, and lack of immigration records, that he may actually have been second or third generation American born, from the German community in Rhinebeck, NY. Johann Wilhelm George arrived on the 8th Palatine ship, October 1710, and he was living at the Livingston Plantation in Summer 1711. <ref 1711 Livingston Plantation Records, John George was living in Rhinebeck, NY and working as a gardener at the Livingstone Plantation in 1790.  <ref 1790 Census records and the aforementioned Biological Review.

Hi Gregory.  The family name is sometimes spelled Jorg or York.  According to "The Palatine Families of New York" (p. 274), Johann Wilhelm and Johann Anthony George were brothers who originated in the village of Höchstenbach, which is located 7 km southwest of Hachenburg.  When they arrived in New York in 1710, they lived at Livingston Manor along with their wives and also a woman named Anna Elizabeth Georgin (sister?  sister-in-law?).  Jones lists 6 chldren (4 daughters) for Johann Wilhelm and his wife Maria.  Of those, the son Johnn Nicholas (of "Scohary") is mentioned as having died in 1755.  Possibly, your line stems for him; Jones describes him as an "quite a character."  There was another son Adam (born 1708); unclear if he had issue.  One interesting clue about Johann Wilhelm is that he was still a debtor at Livingston Manor in 1718, listed as Wilhelmus York--when many of the other 1709ers living there had moved on. Jones lists no family for his brother Johann Wilhelm Geog.

Jones also notes that there were other Georges in colonial New York at that time.  He mentions a Johannes Jurg (Shurrig), who married Annaetÿe Outwater in 1730, in Hackensack.  He also mentions  Jan Geog who married Anna Maria Planck in 1752 in/near Loonenburg.

I'm not sure if any of these can be linked to Rhinebeck, NY Georges, but at least you have some clues!
