The Sweden Project, with excellent, helpful, experienced volunteers, has been invaluable in helping me learn the initial ropes of investigating far back into Swedish ancestry. Kudos to Eva Ekblad and the team who are cited on the Nystrom and Swanson lineage of my husband's family tree. It all started with hand written family trees. Now, with the help of volunteers here, and some Ancestry, Family Search, and other public genealogy resources, I've been able to verify almost seven generations of ancestors for the family, to go with photos the family has collected and I now have.

I am grateful to WikiTree as information like this "wants to be free." I am glad to share what I can to preserve the history and provide links to what written histories and book resources are available as well.

PS: Google Translate has also been invaluable.

Pierre, the answer to your question is easy - yes, there is a Sweden project here and I expect that its members specialize in Swedish research.  Susie added the tag that will alert members of that project to your question here... you can expect to see answers here from them very soon or you can go to the project page and find people there that you might want to contact directly.

Well, this may not have been what Pierre was asking about, but I have just spent the morning teasing out a small knot of duplicated profiles in Överkalix and finding sources for them.

I even found a military record for soldier Jöns Persson Lång. Soldier names are one of the tricky things for Swedish profiles in WikiTree, since they weren't born with the soldier name, but had them assigned when they enrolled - and yet they are usually all over the Internet with their soldier names as primary identifier.
