This month’s Bio Builders Challenge theme is people born in the month of November. Everyone have fun.

Thank you for your support.

Here's our checklist:

Data Section:

  • birth date/place
  • names of parents
  • marriage date/place and spouse name
  • names of children, if any
  • death date/place

Biography Section:

  • Written (full) sentences stating the facts above, adding inline sources to each fact.
  • Is the profile '''Genealogically Defined?'''
  • As a general rule biographies should be in your own words. Paraphrase and rewrite, don't copy/paste.
  • Baptism, burial, military, and other life events with inline sources.
  • Something to "humanize" the person, such as career or avocation with sources.
  • List of children with at least one pertinent fact.
  • Some list siblings. (I think this takes up real estate.)
  • Explanatory remarks, if needed (e.g. disputed persons information, Research Notes, whatever needs extra explaining).
  • Photos or pictures, background. Not a must, but nice (you need to own the copyright unless they are in the public domain).
  • Categories.
  • Connection to the Global Tree.
  • All duplicates merged or initiated.
  • Links to persons and events, perhaps from Wikipedia.
  • Historical context as related to the person's life.
  • Sources, Sources, Sources.

You can see some ideas on where to find some of this information on the Biography Builders space page.

Use "comments" below to ask questions.

NOTE: Biography Builders will not show on the tracker. Please add a list to your answer.

P.S. Suggestions for future themes are ways welcome, especially if they tie into, or help, a Wikitree Project.

I will be happy to do this months
I just checked out the spreadsheet and September hasn't been added yet. Will it be added to the stas, soon?
Stats should be up soon.
Thank you :)

What about people that were baptized in November and the date of birth is not known?

Ummmmm, OK. I always try to give everyone a break when it comes to biographies.
How can I see the spreadsheet?

Getting a late start this month, but I have a few folks on my anniversaries list I'm working on.

1. Jared Charles Mansell - WW1 veteran, electrician, brother of my great-grandmother

2. Martha "Annie" Oliver - Tobacco worker who died of tuberculosis. She was my 2x great-grandmother's sister.

3. Lavinia Wood Polk - Related through marriage to US President James K. Polk. She ran a notable boarding house, the Dancy-Polk House, in Decatur, Alabama.

4. Giovanni DeVivo - my husband's great-grandfather. Italian immigrant and carpenter.

5. Elizabeth Hawkins Black - my 3x great-grandmother.

6. William Joseph Thompson - a hotel clerk from Kentucky. I'm his 2x great-grand-niece.

How do I paste in the profile links?
by Christine Frost G2G6 Pilot (151k points)
Sorry that should have been a comment, I tried to paste in links but nothing is coming up.

In the comment box, see the line of options starting with B I U S etc., just right of center is what looks link a chain link - click on it and a box opens to past the link and above it is space to type the name, as you would like it to appear.  For a numerical listing, first click on the numbered list (top row, and again just right of center)

Many thanks Patricia, I got there in the end thanks to your help.
