Hannover-19 is a direct ancestor of Romanov-29 but not along matrilineal lines . . . so why does his profile show with Niki's mtDNA test?

She's a cutie!  Too bad the Special:Relationship doesn't have options for patrilineal and matrilineal lines.  I suppose I should have done DNA ancestors but it seems to be past my bedtime and the brain has already nodded off.  Thanks!
Yes, getting the Special:Relationship to have the option for patrilineal and matrilineal lines has been requested for years. I sincerely hope more people will ask for it so WikiTree will spend the time to make that programming happen.
The Egyptian royalty was even more infatuated with incest even after the Macedonian's took over with General Ptolemy.  The general rule was sibling marriage.  If I recall correctly, Cleopatra's first two husband were two of her brothers. . . . a jaw dropping idea.

Hi Thom, with mtDNA and the way it is presented on WikiTree, there doesn't have to be any direct ancestors, it just means that the ancestry of them both via female lines intersects at some point.

Both Hannover-19 and Romanov-29 have https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Habsburg-44 as a shared maternal line ancestor.
