Should George Downing-646 be part of the PGM Project? [closed]

Emanuel Downing-243 immigrated to New England in 1638 and is part of the PGM project, but his younger children who immigrated with him, are not. This would include George Downing and sister Lucy, who were born in England; younger sibs were born in New England.

George matriculated at Harvard in 1640, part of the first class. He should definitely be PGM

He actually belongs in Cheryl's new sub-project PGM Beyond because he did not remain in New England, but went first to the West Indies then back to England.

I've hopefully added the correct tags and Cheryl will be along to confirm.

The profile is in need of major cleanup, resulting in a single narrative (with subheaders, if appropriate), and appropriately cited.

Lois, is that something you can take on? (I know Cheryl is overloaded.)

I definitely plan to do it, either for PGM-Beyond or for England.

I'm thinking now that England might be most appropriate, as this is where he did most of his important work.

But does this preclude giving him PGM status as well? So many figures fall under multiple categories.

I think an individual profile is only supposed to be in one Project, but I'm happy to take him into the England Project. I like that he is described as "unpleasant" and "brutal", and that's by the official UK Government website!

Let me know if you wish me to proceed with the England Project adoption.

Hi Jo Fitz-Henry,  since PGM Beyond New England was established, I've been aware that there would be times when PGM Beyond and England Project would need to coordinate our efforts - and that's good, it's what WikiTree is all about.  :-)

As far as I know, it's fine for more than one project's involvement in a profile, as long as there is good communication... and I don't think that will be a problem.

Lois is a member of both PGM and England projects, another plus, so she is a good volunteer genealogist to work on the profile.

I'll add the PGM project box, as well as the sub-project sticker - PGM Beyond New England.  You add England's sticker/project box as well.

Lois, if it is your desire, please move ahead on this profile.  Thanks all.
This sounds like a fine solution to me, and I'll be glad to take it on. Unless anyone objects, I think I'd still like to start with Emanuel Downing as a kind of source springboard.
That seems good to me, Lois.
