Question about John Richard Newport

I believe that the stories of 2 different John Newports may have been merged into one on many "trees" and on the Wikitree. Also I don't find anywhere where his name is John Richard Newport rather than just Richard Newport.

The correct John Newport's arrival in 1741: Transported by a Tully Choice'. “US and Canada Passenger and Immigration Lists Index 1500-1900”. (Tully Choice was apparently born in 1706 Apparently there is a record that he sold slaves and 3 white servants in 1751 so he would have been in this sort of business). John Newport was transported with 16 other individuals. "Virginia Genealogical Society Quarterly Vol 26 > number 2 (page 465) Imported 17 persons - list of names"

Richard Newport, His Book, The Lineage of Richard Newport, Minister of the Gospel, by Linda Shay P. 12-13, "...John Newport , who was transported to Virginia by Tully Choice, along with 16 other individuals.

John became a witness to many documents in Culpeper/Orange Virginia for a number of years. He became deputy sheriff in Orange Co.,under the sheriff Robert Greene. John died intestate about 1746/7 The date is not exact. There is an inventory of his worldly possessions in one of the Orange Co. deed books. John's wife's name was Elizabeth. Her maiden name is unknown. Elizabeth is correct because her name was on a land transaction that John had bought. He apparently married his Elizabeth in Orange County VA in 1742

The marriage in London was between a different John Newport and Elizabeth Barnet on 20 Jun 1731 is on "London, England, Clandestine Marriage and Baptism registers, 1667-1754"
[Gaynam's Register] Wyatt's register. (1730 Sep - 1733 Sep).

The other John Newport's 1724 arrival by Boat from Newgate England to Virginia: He was convicted for stealing at the Old Bailey London and transported to America. This John was transported from London on the Rappahannock Merchant (Capt. John Jones) in December 1724" Date received on boat December 14, 1724. This information comes from Coldham’s “The King’s Passengers from Maryland and Virginia”: : Richard Newport, His Book, The Lineage of Richard Newport, Minister of the Gospel, by Linda Shay
