Im looking to find any and all possible information regarding my Great Grandmother, Ella Lucile (Shoop) Southworth. She was married to Jay Clark Southworth. Im not quite sure on the number of children Ella carried, but I do know that she died when my Grandmother Margaret Jane Southworth was just a baby. I was told that all the older siblings were sent to live with their grandparents on the farm. They really  could use  the extra little helpers. But due to her only being a baby, and not capable of helping, she was sent to live with her Auntie Berger. Their father Jay Clark Southworth had a break down of some sort after his wifes death , and was committed into the hospital. Can YOU help me out with this PLEASE? Thank You ahead of time, Hollie Christine Tuckness Hernandez

On the 1920 US Census PA, Westmoreland Co., Lower Burrell Twp., Jay C. and Ella L. Southworth are living with daughter Marjorie L., 3-4/12yo.  Jay, 25yo b. PA, works as a machinist in a steel works.  Ella, 21yo, was born in Minnesota, but Marjorie was born in PA.  Ella's father was born in PA, but her mother was born in SWEDEN.

According to the 1930 US Census PA, Allegheny Co., Verona Borough, ED 2-842, Page 9B, Jay C. Southworth, a 34yo widower, is living with his parents, Andrew W. Southworth, 70yo, and Mary M. Southworth, 64yo.  Granddaughter Marjorie, 13yo, and other grandchildren, are living with Andrew, as well as 4 boarders.  Apparently the family was back together again in 1930.

Hollie,

I have been researching the Southworth ancestry recently since my mother's maiden name is Elizabeth Southworth.  So Jay Clark Southworth was her uncle.  A entry in the Ohio death index lists Jay Clark Southworth as having died  on July 31, 1993 in Warren, Ohio.  And his mothers maiden name is listed as Shoop.  His marital status is listed as Married, but no further information is given concerning his wife.
