Gershom Lockwood b1708 married Mary Ferris-293 b 28 Oct 1708 per Birth Records her parents are James Ferris and Mary Merritt, I have mentioned this to the person who's tree I got tied into but they are not responding,  The have Zachariah Ferris Jr. and Sarah Reed Ferris. but no sources. Since I feel this is wrong I would like to have my own tree till there is better proof

Cindy, wikitree promotes one profile per person. If the person you refer to has verifiable sources and is an open profile you can either edit it or add a comment on the profile page. Another option is to request to be added to the trusted list.

Actually, there is no such thing as 'my tree' on WikiTree.  The PM you are referring to has not been on WT for over two years, so you are unlikely to get a response.

Do you have sources that state that Mary Ferris is the child of James & Mary, rather than Zachariah and Sarah?  They may even be two separate people.
