Midde name problem

Hi,

I have a problem on (Schulze-1140)  "Gerhard Wilhelm -[uncertain] Schulze"

This started with the "MIDDLE NAME" story , when I saved the Profile I canceled the [middle name] as I have done a thousand times, before . But  this time it persists, I tried to cancel it in various ways, like by saving it with 'certain' and 'uncertain' and by putting a 'middel name' in . Then I got stuck with [uncertain] [ no middle name] at the same time, I got rid of the [no middle name] but the [uncertain] is stuck there like chewing gum on a woolen blanket .

Can somebody please help me to get rid of this 'uncertain bug, because it is really bugging me .

The "uncertain" flag against the Proper First Name is the problem.

Thank you for all the suggestions, as I explained, I tried them all, even closed and reopened the profile after each attempt, nothing helped .

We had a power shut-down for three hours now and when i came back on and opened the profile, wow, problem has disappeared !

Should Wilhelm be moved to Middle Name?  As RJ said, you are seeing the 'uncertain' because that 'button' is selected

You're doing it right - Wilhelm is indeed part of the first name. WikiTree has made the design decision to have to select the "no middle name button" if people come from cultures without middle name, so that's what you have to do.

Now back to the question: why is it uncertain? You flagged uncertain at the first name (using the same selection option as with the middle name), which should be flagged to "certain" :-)
