"suggestions" and resolutions

Question

So, I have a couple of "suggestions" that I have resolved (to my satisfaction) but which I am unable to get to "disappear" from the suggestions.  E.G. My grandfather lied about his age to enlist for WW1.  He is buried in a VA cemetery and his "marker" DOB reflects the DOB that he gave the Army (26 April 1899).  The correct DOB is 26 April 1900.  I have noted this several different ways on the suggestions list and of course on the profile.  However, I have not found a way to make the suggestion go away.  I don't suppose it really matters if it stays on the suggestion list for the next eon, but I am curious whether I am just missing the obvious way to make the suggestion go away.

Have you tried checking "False Suggestion" and then Hide Forever? If you have the explanation of the age difference documented and explained on his biography, I would try the false suggestion option.

Yes, suggesting a FAG edit is an option; however, I have found that if the tombstone shows the wrong date, FAG usually will not change the birth or death date. I have one of those scenarios. The birth date is nine years before the person was born because someone made a mistake on the stone. I have provided documentation of his real birth date, in the person's own words, and the managers will not change it. Very frustrating!!
